THE PL PUZZLE STORIES: Valentine Madness

Where’s the party!?

Sinulat ni Barny

Friday night. Nakaka-tig-apat na redhorse na kami ni Jake, my classmate and roommate dito sa uni. We’re both 2nd year engineering students. Regular guys trying to survive a course that will hopefully bring us the good jobs and siyempre, sankatutak na moolah. Pero things weren’t going as planned (especially for me). Si Jake ang mas matalino sa aming dalawa but he’s also been missing his classes lately.

‘This is not good. Labas tayo parts. I’m sure maraming party diyan sa baba’ sabi ko, in exasperation sa nakakainis na kaba.

‘…sige.

‘Punta tayo kina Pido.

After magpa-porma, bumaba kami sa 1st floor.

He’s out front, feeling DJ na nakasipit ang headphones, between his shoulder and right ear, habang walang awang pinapasabog sa speakers ang disco-mix ng ‘I will always love you’.

Kumaway ito nang makita si Jake. Sumenyas din ito sa isang kasama and in one instant, we had two Pale Pilsens in our hands.

Hindi ko masyadong kilala ang majority but I saw a few familiar faces.

‘Jaaakkee!!

Melanie is of course, beautiful. Galing sa mayamang pamilya ang dalaga, so you always see her with expensive looking, and in most times very revealing clothes. What she seems to enjoy a lot doing though, is ang makipag-flirt with the goodlooking guys sa uni (that will exclude me, I confess) but everybody knows, she’s untouchable.

I was pushed aside as Melanie started to chat Jake. Napatingin na lang sa akin ang kaibigan ko, eyes begging me not leave him with this, obviously dangerous girl. I tried to stay put but it only took one cold stare from Melanie to send me scampering somewhere else. Alam kong kahit papaano ay kaya ni Jake si Melanie but somehow, I still felt guilty for bailing out on him.

I went out for some fresh air…hoping to find somebody para mahingan ng sigarilyo…or better; Jutes, He he.

I was lucky.

I saw some of our batchmates na alam kong mahilig umakyat ng Sagada.

The CR provided the silence I so needed after that barrage of sound that was pounding on my ears dun sa lounge. Medyo nabibingi pa ako so I was thankful when the door closing blocked most of the noise.

Nobody seems to be around kaya nag-lock na ako sa isa sa mga cubicles…Lighting the stick and sitting on the toilet bowl.

…and off I go.

Kalagitnaan ng joyride, I heard somebody, no, actually two people entering the bathroom. Natigil ako…nakiramdam. Parang nagbubulungan at nagmamadali ang mga ito. They entered the cubicle next to mine. Then, the sound of the door being locked.

Na-excite ako as I heard the sound of cloths being hurriedly removed. I also heard what was undeniably, a woman’s deep breathing. Pakenshet! Pag sinusuwerte nga naman, it sounds like I’m about to be treated to a live show.

Hindi ko marinig ang boses ng lalaki but as I strained, placing my ears to the wall I heard the sound of a zipper being opened…then the guy’s moan.

…second chapter coming soon.
