“Dont you dare go there! Don’t even say it,” madiin na utos ng binata. Yinapos nya ng mahigpit si Kate. “Hindi yan ang solution… tanggapin mo na, Kate, it’s you and me all the way! Hindi mo na ako matatakasan!”
Josh was up the entire night, thinking of a solution to their situation. Based on his background check, wala pang definitive information as to the disappearance of Jeff Magsano. He was last seen being dragged out of his own house by men identifying themselves as policemen. Allegedly, while they took him, the “policemen” warned the eyewitnesses not to interfere in a police investigation. Although Josh’s own investigation revealed that Jeff Magsano was a known human rights lawyer and advocate, hindi sya affiliated in any way sa partido komunista. Nor did he have any ties with terrorist groups. Neither information did anything to appease him.
Hindi rin accurate ang sabihin ni Kate na kababata nya si Jeff. He knew from a background check that they also shared an interest in human rights advocacy, and that he and Kate often participated in seminars and activities sponsored by human rights groups. Hanga man si Josh sa personal convictions ni Kate, hindi naman panatag ang loob nya sa danger na dala ng mga activities ni Kate.
Kung totoong disaparacido si Jeff, then he wanted Kate safe, and he had already planned ahead.

But whether Kate will go along with his plan was another matter entirely. The following morning, nagyaya si Josh sa isang outing out of Baguio daw, just the two of them. Umokay naman ang dalaga sa pag-babaka-sakaling makalimutan saglit ni Josh ang worry nya.
However, Kate was surprised when they ended up at the entrance of Camp Dangwa. “Why are we here?”
“Wala lang…ngayon makikita mo kung ano naman ang mga hobbies ko.” He grabbed a black gym bag from his pick-up. While he led her to a domed one story building, he took out his cellphone and dialled the numbers of one of his contacts. “Bro, dito na kami.”
Sumunod si Kate kay Josh, who entered the building ahead of her. Nagulat sya when she saw they were inside an indoor firing range. Sinalubong sila ng isang lalaking naka civilian. Without being obvious, Kate tried to observe the man. He was a few inches shorter than Josh but he packed a lot of lean muscle. Although his hair was in need of a trim, it was obvious from his bearing that he had military training. He led them to a long table in the center of the room and carefully plaved a duffel bag on it, opened it and laid out several pouches on the table. Isa isang inalis nila ang covering. Mga handguns pala yun. One by one, tinignan ni Josh ang chambers nila to check that they were not loaded. He was methodical about it, and twice nyang tinignan ang bawat isa bago nya nilapag sa table, the nozzle pointing away from them.
“Come here, babydoll, I want to show you something….These are handguns…try handling this… it’s a .38 cal Smith & Wesson revolver…”
Kate was obviously uncomfortable around guns, so Josh carefully held one and stood behind her. With his guidance, he carefully wrapped Kate’s hands around the firearm’s handle. It was a small handgun, compared to the one she saw Josh carry on his person, and it’s handle fit her palms easily. Still, standing behind her, he showed her how to check the chamber for bullets. But Kate was still disconcerted by the display of ammo’s kaya hindi sya maka-concentrate.
“Pay attention, Kate,” bulong ni Josh. “I want you to learn how to take care of yourself.”
Tinulak niya ang kamay ni Josh away from her. “Josh…hindi ko ‘to kailangan. I don’t want to learn…”
“This is not for you, babe. This is for me! I need to know that when I am away, you know enough to take care of yourself… Keep yourself safe for me, Kate…dahil kung may masamang mangyayari sa ‘yo, hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko…” His voice was husky with emotion.
Kate was over whelmed at the depth of feeling na meron si Josh para sa kanya. Realizing how important this was to him, Kate wordlessly gripped the handgun, readying herself for her first lesson in handling firearms.
Josh kissed the top of her head and whispered, “Good girl…”

For the entire two weeks of his leave, Josh and Kate spent almost three hours on the firing range. He was pushing her to get used to handling a handgun. She picked the first handgun Josh asked her to handle, as she liked the fit of it in her hands. It was also easy enough to carry and conceal in her bag. Although she had gotten used to it, she was still in doubt as to her safety.
Gabi-gabi, Josh dragged Kate home with him, allowing her to go to her apartment only once to get a few change of clothes. Even then, when she took longer than necessary, he started ringing her phone. He knew enough not to suffocate Kate with his protective measures, dahil naiinis na itong isa. “Well, tough shit! She’ll just have to grin and bear it!”
Sa huling araw nya sa Baguio, he handed Kate a duplicate set of keys to his house.
“Para sa’n to?”
“Dito ka muna sa bahay…mabuti na yung alam nila that you live here in my house.”
“OA ka na ha!… wala ka ngang natutunugan na intelligence…obviously, hindi ako in danger! Kelangan ko na ring umuwi at baka manakawan naman ang apartment ko. Mas possible pang manakaw ang laptop ko sa bahay than me being in danger….”
To shut her up, Josh gripped her head and kissed her. Iniwasan naman ni Kate ang bibig nya kaya sa leeg nya nag-landing ang lips ni Josh. “Kissing you is the only way to make you shut up,” aroganteng bulong ni Josh as he continued to lick and nibble on her neck and behind her ears. Nakukuryente naman si Kate sa bawat kiliti ng dila ni Josh on her skin. “Kapal mo talaga…,” pakipot naman sya.
“Pasimple ka pa…’lam ko naman hot na hot ka na din eh…” sagot ni Josh. Siniksik nya ang isang leg nya sa pagitan ng thighs ni Kate. Involuntarily, Kate adjusted her right leg din para ma accommodate ang girth ng lalaki. Sa ganong posisyon nila, nakasampay ng bahagya ang leg nga dalaga over his thigh. Through her flimsy panties, feel ni Kate ang hard-on ni Josh.
“Excuse meee…baliktad ata, ikaw ang libog na libog sa kin….”
“E ano ‘to?” Josh arched his pelvis against her center, at involuntaring nag-twitch ang katawan ni Kate. Nag-umpisang mag-pulse and mag-moisten ang pekpek ng babae. Diniin pa lalo ni major ang lumalaking bukol nya sa tambok nya while raising her right leg higher and wider. “Aminin mo na….utog ka din sa ‘kin…”
Rather than admit it, “Mas atat ka sa ‘kin,” at dinilaan nya ang nipples ni Josh under his t-shirt to prove it. Nag-jerk and titi ni Josh through his jeans. “See…you are soooo easy, Josh…” Patuloy na sinipsip nya ang nipples ng bf nya.
Josh was having a hard time keeping his early promise, pero he stopped Kate from going further. With firm resolve, he unwrapped her legs from around his waist, and gently set her down on the floor. “Kate baby, I promised…let me cool down.” Lumabas si Josh ng bahay para magpahangin.
