being a radio dj, i must’ve mastered the art of telling a story thru songs. that works for most of my listeners back then, and i’ve had my share of the experience. i’ve had two wonderful nights to treasure, thus it’s my push to share this entry inspired by the song Broken by Seether and Amy Lee.
***For Tala’s Irog: You will always be dear to that very star you made to shine the brightest…
”I wanted you to know i love the way you laugh.
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away.
I keep your photograph, i know it serves me well.
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain”
sometimes, realizing where you stand makes you wanna just turn your back and quit. but you see, it isn’t the cliff edge, or the foot of the mountain or the long stretch of fields who’s to blame. they never intend to make you feel a loser. it is most of the time your own choice not to jump and fly or climb and reach the top, or sow and reap that makes u feel never the winner.
“The worst is over now, and we can breathe again.
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away…”
turning your safety off at times exposes you to things that, yes, may hurt you a bit, but will make you learn a lot. do not be scared to check on what you can do outside your comfort zone, what you can have without your security blanket, what you can feel if you just try to be sensitive.
“There’s so much left to learn, and no one left to fight.
I wanna hold you high, and steal your pain.”
i realized that if by choice, you become so numb, it is just either of two things. one, you got so tired crying and soothing yourself over some kind of pain; or two, you are just scared to accept the fact that sometimes, things don’t happen the way we want them to be.
“You’ve gone away, you don’t feel me, here, anymore…”
but then again sometimes, as much as you wanna set free yourself, the mere fact of that when you fall, or you hike, or you run towards the fate you wanted for your own, its still yourself who you get to fight the risks over. dilemma – you wanted it so bad yet still hesitant to have it.
“Cause I’m broken, when I’m lonesome.
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough…”
thus, end point is you let go. and you’re back to square one. without the pain. because you did not take the risk. so you missed your chance. and you have let go of the happiness that’s almost in your hands.
“…I’m broken, when I’m lonesome.
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away…”
***Tala may have decided to turn her back on Irog, but that doesn’t mean he is not important to her. In fact, Irog is the most significant person in her life if not the one she loves the most right now.
